What Happens To The Internet Every Second, Minute, Hour and Day?

Summary
There are a total of 2.5 billion internet users world-wide and these people are using the internet a lot. By breaking down on how much internet we actually use per second, minute, hour and day the number is really shocking. For example in one second there are 1,633 tweets are published on twitter. 694,445 google searches happen every second, and also 780,000 apps are being download per second too. In one second 2.8 million e-mails are being sent, which is equivalent to the entire Chicago population sending e-mail all at once. In one hour 10.5 million photos are uploaded to Facebook and 4,200 domains are being registered. In one day there are 172 million people visited Facebook and 98 years of video uploading on Youtube. It all adds up to 133,133 years online.

Major Concept

  • Show how much of the internet we use.
  • Shows how people is so addicted to the internet.
  • It also shows that we people rely on the internet way too much.
Potential Strength/Advantages
  • Help us understand how many people is addicted just like ourselves.
  • Help us see how much we people are relying on the internet and find something else to rely on.
Potential Strength/Disadvantage
  • Makes people want to make the numbers go up.
  • Allow us to feel how addicted we are and feel bad about ourselves.
Discussion Question
  • How did they manage to get all these numbers?
  • Will this much amount destroy the internet?
