Internet Users Not knowing that downloading pirates is illegal?

Summary

People nowadays use illegal search engine such as torrent to get illegal unauthorized content.A lot of people don't know that it is illegal to download from a pirated site. 44% out of 2500 people says that they thought uploading commercially produced media uploaded to a file sharing website is legal. And others did not that if it's lawful or not. 35% of the people claimed that they thought that it is legal to get a copy of a film or TV shows from a friend. 68% of the people think that it is illegal and think that it should be protected that people cannot use illegal downloads. Over two-third of the people agree to use search engine such as Google to find unauthorized content. Over one in fourth people uses the search engine daily to find such contents. For it being illegal is bad because people who don't want to pay for films or TV shows can watch it at home just by a click of a button. It is good for the people who are lazy and likes to stay at home because it is much easier for them. It is bad for the producers and the artist that is the one working to make that film or any other contents. In my opinion it is ok for it to be illegal to download because people would still download it. Plus I think that the artist and movie stars are rich enough already they don't need that kind of money it doesn't matter to them. So I think that it should be legal and not illegal because these people are rich already this kind of money doesn't matter to them.

Major Concepts
  • People are not aware of whether illegal downloading is illegal or not.
  • 68% of the people believe that it is necessary to protect the content, which is an interesting fact because I think those people are hypocrites.
  • 35% of the people including me didn't know that copying a film or TV show from a friend is illegal.
Potential Strength/Advantages.
  • To people who didn't know that it was illegal now know that it is so they would be aware of it later on.
  •  Let people understand the importance of whether this is illegal or legal.
Potential Strength /Disadvantage
  • Some people will not care about this at all and still use illegal downloads. They have said it before that it is illegal so people still download illegally so there is no use in posting this.
  • It might make those file sharing websites be banned again.
Discussion Questions
  • Why does it matter if people download it illegally, everyone is doing it?
  • How would this make the file sharing website feel and will they be forced to banned the website?

Evasi0n Jailbreak killled by iOS 6.1.3

Summary
Nowadays everyone is using a smartphone doesn't matter if it's an iOS system or an android system there is always a hack to hack your phone. For iOS systems it's called a jailbreak there is a lot of teams out there who develop a jailbreaking software for us users to use. There are a lot of teams doing the same thing but one of the most famous one is the evad3rs, which they create the software called Evasi0n. Now with Apple's newest update iOS 6.1.3 it updates a lot of things to avoid users from jailbreaking. One of the makers called MuscleNerd pointed out on his twitter that Apple have founded 4 of 6 of the security flaws credited for the evad3rs. Now that Apple have found the flaw they patched the new update so the jailbreakers should stay away from it. MuscleNerd have mentioned that his team is working on trying to jailbreak this software, and not for long iOS 6.1.3 will be jailbroken and be used by users again. There is a website that shows how to save and protect your iOS 6 jailbreak, by clicking here.

Major Concept
  • Apple's new release of iOS 6.1.3

Potential Strength/Disadvantage
  • People might be inspired by this and hack even more things like government website, banks, etc.
  •  It's like a constant technology battle between Apple and jailbreakers, if it keeps going on this way it could causes some problems.

Discussion Question
  • How did the jailbreakers team manage to break through every time there is a new release? Is Apple letting them break through or is Apple's security really bad?
  •  Why does Apple care so much that people are jailbreaking, I heard most of the Apple employees have their iPhone jailbroken because it will give the iPhone it's full potential. Why does Apple not letting the user use the phone's full potential?

    The Big Picture Homework

What is machine language and how is it difference from human language?
In my opinion the very most important and obvious difference is that our human language is what we humans speak and communicate with each other. Our machine language are 1 and 0 or anything like that. Things that we human will not understand unless you memorize the machine language. So we need to understand human language first to actually understand machine languages.

Who was the first computer programmer?
    Ada Lovelace

What did he/she created? Explain that in detail.

She created the first programmable computer which she use Charles Babbage's idea to actually make one programmable computer. Charles actually made an analytical engine which is actually the first step of a programmer. The thing is he couldn't be able to finish his project, because there are a lot of issues/error with it. And so Ada took Charles idea and develop the system just by adding more method to actually complete the program. After she did complete to make the program she is known as the first programmer.

iPhone senses you typing on table

    Summary
This article is pretty much talking about how a Swiss designer called Florian Kräutli created a vibration keyboard. This keyboard uses Vibrative Virtual Keyboard it uses accelerometer on the iPhone 4 to sense the tremors of the finger tapping the table. He says that it could be use on any solid surface. But as they see the demo it seems like a lot of pressure is needed to press the key to allow the phone to detect it. Even thought this is only the prototype, he say he is still working on it and will publish it as soon as his done.

    Major Concept
    • It shows that our technology have been developing a lot.

    • To show more ways for people to use smartphone more consistently.
    Potential Strengths/Advantages
    • More convenient for people who travel a lot.
    • Easier for people to type while using a smartphone.
    Potential Strengths/Disadvantages
    • It's not that easy to press the buttons.
    • The sensory of the object isn't as good as it suppose to be.
    Discussion Questions
    • How does this actually work, even reading the article I am still confused.
    • Why is it hard to put a projector on a smartphone to create the same effect but easier.

There are a few site right now that is great for documentaries for people who are interested in watching all these document. People would like to learn a lot on how things work and also interested in some documents. Right now there are just some historical record for example Wikipedia. Google search with new features. (Enhanced Sounds)

    Summary:
The main summary of this article is that Google is trying to compete with Siri which is an strong match up. They are both different in a lot of ways for example Siri cannot be too specific about some things that they are talking about or the user is asking. For the example gave in the article is say that in Google search can ask questions like how does the Yankee stadium look like? Does things are some question that Siri cannot answer properly. But the other difference is that Siri can do things that Google search cannot which is making appointment, reminders, etc. So there is a difference between using Siri and Google search. For the IOS things it cannot participate with another third part application, which in this case is Google search. So there are advantages and disadvantages between the two features. So it only comes down to whether you should use Siri or Google search I think it's all up to the user and see if he/she is use to which application.

    Major Concept
    • Showing how technology is changing overtime.
    • Showing the difference between Google search and Siri and let the user decide which one to use.
    • Showing how people are trying to catch up to each others technology.
    Potential Strengths/Advantages
    • Help people with disability to use smartphones.
    • To put that feature on other smartphone too not just iPhone.
    Potential Strengths/Disadvantages
    • People will be very lazy in the future.
    • They need to make it more accurate so people who have accent can't really talk to it.
    Discussion Question
    • How are all voice recognition made?
    • What other questions that are hard to answer, could it be asked and answered?

    A history of smartphones

Since right now pretty much everyone uses a smartphone it doesn't matter if it's an iPhone, blackberry, Samsung, etc. It's all smartphones and since right now world smartphone usage total has passed the billion mark in 20 years. A lot of company have been earning a lot of money from all these kind of smartphones. Right now I think 9/10 people on street would be using a smartphone. This website show the most important 20 type of smartphone which start from Bell south IBM Simon to iPhones. So these are all the types of smartphones in the world that are really important to start all the other smartphones.
I think this article is really cool because now like I said before 9/10 people on street probably have/use an smartphone. So looking at all these phone to see what they evolve from is really cool, because this is really what surrounds our whole world. So reading this article really teach me that everything new products are all evolve from  an old device and all these device are what is really motivate these company to make the smartphones.

    Major Concept:
    • The usage of smartphone have been use for over a billion usages.
    • The different type of important types of smartphones.
    • How all these smartphone develop into the one we are using.
    • Tell us how long smartphone have been around.
    Potential Strength/Advantages
    • There are some strength and advantages for example he said that the usage of smartphone have gone over billions. I think this is a very strong argument because it just show that how many people have been using smartphones.
    • It just make me realize how long smartphone have been around for 20 years and these are the 20 most important smartphones. I say that because I think that smartphone have only been around since 2005 or so.
    Potential Problems/Limitations/Disadvantages
    • I think he could possibly overlook some of the 20 years like I see some smartphones in this article that I believe isn't really that important. Maybe some things inside of the phone that make it important but it's not that I know of.
    • Other than that there is nothing really that is a main weakness of this article.
    Discussion Questions
    • I would want to know what are the types of smartphone that makes it important and how it contribute with the other smartphones?
    • Are there some smartphones that will help us understand how it develop?
